By choosing a business on Kiva.org, one can "sponsor a business" and help the world's working poor make great strides towards economic independence. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), investors receive email journal updates from the sponsored business. As loans are repaid, sponsors get their loan money back.

P.O.V. films are known for their intimacy, their unforgettable storytelling and their timeliness, putting a human face on contemporary social issues.

Women Make Movies

Established in 1972 to address the under representation and misrepresentation of women in the media industry, Women Make Movies is a multicultural, multiracial, non-profit media arts organization which facilitates the production, promotion, distribution and exhibition of independent films and videotapes by and about women. The Moth

The Moth is dedicated to the art of storytelling as an art that satisfies the vital human need for connection. It was founded in 1997 by poet and novelist George Dawes Green, who wanted to recreate the feeling of sultry summer evenings on his native St. Simon's Island, Georgia.
